Jami Thomas

SR. Director | Business Development

Jami Thomas was promoted to Business Development Manager in January 2022. She joined The NIIC in October 2019 and previously served as the Grants Compliance Specialist. She also serves as the Kiva Northeast Indiana Capital Access Manager.

Jami achieved a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from Western Governors University and a project management certification from CompTIA. She is a John Maxell Certified Business Coach, Trainer, and Speaker.

In her previous role at Greater Fort Wayne Inc., she was instrumental in its designation as Indiana Chamber Association’s Chamber of the Year in 2018. She also graduated from Leadership Fort Wayne and was selected as a Forty Under 40 Award recipient by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly.

She also served as an educator with Redken 5th Avenue, a position that involved direct interaction with salons and independent stylists; helping each find their unique vision through performance improvement and business development. Her passion for assisting small businesses is the result of having walked a mile in their shoes for over six years.  It’s this experience on the front lines that drives her to seek new ways to share what she has learned in support of organizations big and small.

Jami serves on the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank board of directors and on the board of her homeowners’ association. She has also served on other committees in the community.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In her spare time, Jami enjoys spending weekends at the lake with her husband and son, kayaking, reading, running, and volunteering.

Why do you enjoy working at the NIIC?

Whether you are a client or staff member, when you walk into the building you are greeted with a friendly smile. The staff at the NIIC is very welcoming. I have a passion for helping small businesses succeed and that is exactly what we do here at the NIIC. I am honored to be a part of it.

What is your favorite Fort Wayne feature or place to spend time?

My favorite Fort Wayne feature is the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. I have a love of animals and like most girls growing up I wanted to be a veterinarian. Walking around the zoo, getting my steps in, seeing the animals is very relaxing and fun for me.
