“When children and teens have the influence of a caring adult in their lives, they are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and to focus on academics. Today’s youth face a variety of challenges, and being matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister can help them navigate these challenges and reach their potential.” — www.bbsnei.org

WOWnet members laced up bowling shoes and stormed the lanes at Thunder Bowl Fort Wayne for Bowl for Kids’ Sake annual fundraiser. The annual event helps to raise funds so the organization can match more children with adult mentors. “It really is all about the kids. Participating in this fundraising event is a fun, low-key way to help Big Brothers Big Sisters. It also represents putting WOWnet’s mission into action in our community,” said Tammy Allen, WOWnet Member and Director, Marketing & Programs, The NIIC. “And, it aligns with The NIIC’s commitment to community and civic leadership through the support of employee involvement.”

Community support is an important component of a thriving community. Many charitable and nonprofit organizations supported by WOWnet reflect members’ deep involvement as directors, trustees, committee members, and community volunteers (e.g., American Heart Association, Greater Fort Wayne, In., YWCA Circle of Women and others).

In addition WOWnet’s focused organizational philanthropy includes Allen County Christmas Bureau and, this year, Girls on the Run.

WOWnet is a recognized and respected multi-industry networking group of business and professional women in Fort Wayne. Each member represents a different industry for expanded member networks. Visit the website to learn more.
