October 18, 2016, Fort Wayne, Ind.–The Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (The NIIC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Donald F. Kuratko (“Dr. K”), The Jack M. Gill Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurship; Professor of Entrepreneurship; and Executive & Academic Director of Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, will serve as the keynote speaker for The NIIC’s Ideas@Work Signature Conference to be held on April 18, 2017.

“The NIIC is honored to have Dr. K as keynote speaker for our signature event in the spring. He is a distinguished, gifted speaker and leading U.S. educator of entrepreneurship and innovation. Dr. K. will share his expertise and insights in an inspiring and motivational keynote talk entitled: “Myths and Realities of the Entrepreneurial Mindset: An Indiana Perspective,” said Karl R. LaPan, President & CEO, Northeast Indiana Innovation Center. Under Dr. Kuratko’s leadership, Indiana University’s Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program has been ranked the top graduate and undergraduate business school for entrepreneurship for public institutions over the last ten years.

“Personally, I and The NIIC have enjoyed working with Dr. K., most recently through a strategic partnership including The Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, GAT2E and The University of International Business and Economics on the recent launch of the Minjie Tujing Entrepreneurial Pathways Program. Innovative entrepreneurship leadership programs like this help young entrepreneurs to succeed. There is nothing more fulfilling than watching an entrepreneur’s passion and planning converge in a new venture launch,” said LaPan.

The NIIC’s annual Ideas@Work event celebrates entrepreneurial excellence in Northeast Indiana and the surrounding region. “We invite our innovative colleagues, entrepreneurial partners, and the public to celebrate with us as we recognize entrepreneurs and the organizations that support innovation in our region.
