#MyGivingStory – Opportunity for the Next Generation

Since I was born and raised in Decatur, IN, I understand how important Fort Wayne is to the economic vitality of northeast Indiana. Decatur, like other small communities in the region, looked to Fort Wayne for the business services that could not be offered where we lived. We were dependent on each other!
Even though I now live in east central Indiana, I will never forget my roots: delivering newspapers for the Journal Gazette, going to Komets games, and going shopping at Southtown and Glenbrook malls. I even started two businesses in Fort Wayne years ago.
When I think of the importance of a healthy business ecosystem, I first think of The NIIC and the work of WEOC. My giving story is simple – I give back today so the next generation can have the opportunity for success like I have had. To me, giving to the NIIC is an investment well spent!
